Adoption
This week, some airplane loads of boys and girls from Haiti arrived in Canada, to be adopted by Canadian families. This is a good news story. They were orphans, no mother or father. Now they are adopted, loved by a new mom and dad, we hope and pray.
It’s most interesting that in the Bible, God uses this very same language to talk about us. We all were spiritual orphans. Our sinful nature and behaviour cut us off from God the Father. The Bible is clear on this issue, that we are not born children of God, and therefore we must go through the adoption process.
