      Opportunity to Care

      January 10, 2020 Pastor Byron

This past week Word of Life Camp and Bible Institute suffered a fire in one of their buildings that serve as staff housing and a dormitory. Gratefully, there was no loss of life. The local fire department was on the scene quickly and handled the situation with great skill. There was, however, fire and water damage to the building.

As many of you know, Word of Life is a solidly gospel centered ministry and this makes it a privilege to partner with them. They are also a faith-based ministry that functions, to a great degree, because of support that comes via Christian people and churches. So an incident like this is a real challenge for them.

As a church that has sent many of our young people to the camp (retreats, summer camp and staff) I am offering this opportunity for you to be able to help WOL with their Fire Reconstruction Project. Insurance is in place, but as you know there are always more repairs left at the end of the insurance.

If you would like to help WOL Canada you can do so on their website at https://www.wol.ca/. There you will be able to read the press release about the fire and will also be able to make a donation online. For those who would rather not donate online I will give you two options:

      1. Grab a Benevolent Offering Envelope and Mark it to Word of Life Fire Restoration and put it in the offering box.
      2. Next Sunday we are going to “Pass the Offering Plates” as a way to help and encourage Word of Life Canada.

Please pray about how you can Help.

      See You Sunday,

      Pastor Byron

      • Paul’s thanks to the Philippian Church (Chapter 4)

Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble. And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
